Who we are
A pub with
a golf problem.
The golf society of The Hassocks, the pub by the station, going since 2015. 71 names on the books, thirty-odd who actually turn up, and a spread of handicaps wide enough that anyone can win on the day, and regularly does.
March to October, seven Fridays, seven courses across Sussex and a bit of Surrey. All Stableford, all off your society handicap. Every round has a winner, a nearly, a pairs prize, nearest-the-pins and a longest drive, and every one of them gets disputed. Your best three scores of the year go towards the Richard Lambe Memorial Trophy. 11 seasons in, 8 different names are on it.
